Project Description:

Marion County is working to complete the Southwest 49^th Avenue extension, linking Ocala and Marion Oaks. This segment, SW 49^th Avenue North, extends for 3.4 miles from Marion Oaks Trail to SW 95^th Street. Improvements include a proposed four-lane roadway, sidewalks, bike lanes, multi-use path, and a grassed median.

This project is in the Design Phase and right of way acquisitions could begin by the end of 2025. Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2026.
