The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) completed the SR 869/SW 10th Street Connector Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study on June 21, 2021. The PD&E studied SR 869/SW 10th Street from SR 845/Powerline Road to West of Military Trail.
The preferred alternative is expected to be accepted by FDOT in Summer 2021 and then move into the final design phase. The preferred alternative includes connector lanes between the Florida Turnpike and I-95. There will also be lower-speed local lanes within the corridor and a 12-foot-wide shared use path along the south side of the lanes.
Appraisals for right-of-way needs are scheduled to begin in Summer 2022. You can view the PD&E Study documents here.
