Lake County is in the design phase for the widening and extension of Round Lake Road from the Lake/Orange County Line to just north of State Road 44. The design concept was developed from a Project Development & Environment Study approved by Lake County in May 2019.
The proposed roadway will provide two 12-foot-wide travel lanes in each direction,
5-foot-wide bicycle lanes, full and directional median openings, and dedicated left
and right turn lanes in various locations of the project. The design will also include a 12-foot-wide multi-use trail and a 6-foot-wide sidewalk.
Final design will be complete in Spring 2022 and right-of-way acquisition will begin in 2023.
