Project Description:
Marion County is working to complete the Southwest 49th Avenue extension, linking Ocala and Marion Oaks. This segment, SW 49th Avenue North, extends for 3.4 miles from Marion Oaks Trail to SW 95th Street. Improvements include a proposed four-lane roadway, sidewalks, bike lanes, multi-use path, and a grassed median.
This project is in the Design Phase and right of way acquisitions could begin by the end of 2025. Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2026.
